September Apple~ Let’s Paint Together

September, Apples, and Painting Together

September always feels like a fresh start. The air is a little cooler, routines fall back into place, and apples begin to take center stage—whether in a lunchbox, at the orchard, or as inspiration for a creative project. Apples are such a classic symbol of this season of learning and growth, making them a perfect theme to explore with students.

This month, I’ve put together a brand-new apple painting video on my YouTube channel! In it, I’ll guide you step by step through painting a cheerful apple—simple enough for beginners, but flexible for older learners who want to add more detail. Painting together not only builds fine motor skills and creativity but also gives students a chance to slow down, follow directions, and enjoy the process.

Teachers and homeschoolers can easily tie this project into fall lessons; in fact, I am doing this very project with my 3rd graders this September! This project can be paired with apple-themed read-alouds, graphing apple varieties in math, or a science lesson on how apples grow, such as sketching an apple and labeling its parts. Or, enjoy it as a seasonal art break that celebrates the beauty of September.

So grab your paints and brushes, download the lined sketch, and maybe even grab a real apple for inspiration, and let’s welcome the season together with creativity and color. To download the PDF once it is open, right-click your mouse to download the PDF, then save it to your computer, and print.

Watch the video and paint along with me! A Happy, Wonderful September to you!
